Goal: Fill in certain cells on the grid to reveal a hidden pattern. Each cell is either filled (dark) or empty.

How to read the clues: Every row and column has numbers next to it. These numbers tell you how many groups of filled cells are in that line, and how long each group is.

  • A clue of 5 means there is one group of 5 filled cells in a row, with no gaps.
  • A clue of 3 1 means there are two groups – first a group of 3 filled cells, then a gap of one or more empty cells, then a group of 1 filled cell.
  • A clue of 1 1 1 means there are three separate filled cells, each with at least one empty cell between them.
  • The clues only tell you about filled cells. The empty cells in between are for you to work out.

Example: If a row in a 5-cell grid has the clue 2 1, the possible arrangements are:
■■□■□ or ■■□□■ or □■■□■
(■ = filled, □ = empty)

How to play:

  • Click a cell to fill it (dark).
  • Click a filled cell to mark it with an X – this means you are sure it is empty.
  • Click an X cell to clear it back to unknown.

Helpful tips:

  • Start with the largest numbers – they give you the most information.
  • If a clue equals the grid size (e.g., 5 in a 5-cell row), fill the entire row.
  • If a clue is 0 or empty, the entire row or column is empty – mark them all with X.
  • Use X marks generously to keep track of cells you know are empty.
  • When a row or column is complete, its clues will gray out so you can focus on the rest.

Undo: Click Undo (or Ctrl+Z) to reverse your last action. You can undo as many times as you like.
